On behalf of the members of the Norfolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I warmly welcome you to our website. We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit and hope you become better acquainted with our chapter and the services we provide to the Norfolk community.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1913 on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two courageous women who were committed to the ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. The Norfolk Alumnae Chapter, chartered in September 1929, takes pride in being the oldest alumnae chapter in the Sensational South Atlantic Region. Our legacy is rooted in a strong dedication to the core values of our sorority: sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action, just as envisioned by our 22 founders.

Since our chapter's chartering, we have continuously engaged in community outreach, promoted social action, provided youth programming, awarded scholarships, and hosted signature events. We have proudly served the Norfolk community, advancing the vision set forth by our 22 founders for over 95 years.

Our chapter's major programs are based on our sorority's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

• Educational Development

• International Awareness and Involvement

• Physical and Mental Health

• Political Awareness and Involvement

It is our mission to educate and empower the Norfolk community by offering effective programming that enriches the lives of those we serve. Our theme for the next biennium is “Making an IMPACT through Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.” This theme underscores our commitment to making a positive difference in everything we do within the Norfolk community and our chapter.
